Research Area The laboratory is currently conducting the researches as follows: (i) physiology of rumen fibrolytic bacteria; (ii) cold-adapted methanogens that play a role in CH4 emission of the cold wetland, and their cold adaptive mechanisms; and (iii) antioxidative mechanisms of oral streptococci and the interspecies interaction withS. mutans. Research Interests Our current ongoing projects include: (i) quorum sensing regulation in the cellulase synthesis by Cellulosilyticum ruminicola H1; (ii) genome-wide post-transcription involved cold adaptive mechanisms of methanogenic archaea; and (iii) antioxidative mechanisms ofStreptococcus oligofermentans.
