The delegation from the Institute of Microbiology , Chinese Academy of Sciences has visited Thailand

From December 15 to 19, 2024, the delegation, which included Academician George Fu Gao, the Director of the Academic Committee of the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMS), researcher of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention , and Researcher Wang Qihui, Deputy Director of the IMS, and Director Cao Jinghua of the Working Committee on International Cooperation and Overseas Affairs of the Chinese Society of Biotechnology were invited by the organizing committee of the 9th Princess Chulabhorn International Scientific Congress to attend this congress. During the visit, the delegation visited Chulabhorn Research Institute, National Vaccine Research Institute of Thailand and the Innovation Cooperation Center (Bangkok) of Chinese Academy of Science (CAS ICCB).

During this visit, Academician George Fu Gao attended the International Scientific Congress and delivered a keynote speech entitled "Crisis and Opportunity in Global Public Health and Biotechnology". In his speech, he strengthened the advocacy of the 4C principles: Cooperation, Competition, Communication and Coordination. At the same time, the world should follow the trend of peace, development, cooperation and win-win situations, move in the right direction of building a community of human destiny, join hands to meet challenges, cooperate to create the future, and work together to safeguard human life and health.

The delegation also met with Director Nakorn Premsri of the National Vaccine Institute of Thailand, Researcher Charlermchai Artpradit of the Chulabhorn Research Institute, and Dr. Jiang Biao, Director of the CAS ICCB, reviewing the cooperation between China and Thailand as well as the research of international science and technology on global governance of the Belt and Road Initiative, and jointly expressed that they will continue to emphasize the global public health and biomedical cooperation in the future, carry out the joint production of vaccines and protein drugs between China and Thailand, and further promote the cooperation of the whole industrial chain of biomedicine for joint research and development. The Chinese Society of Biotechnology will take the 50th anniversary of China-Thailand diplomatic relations in 2025 as an opportunity to play an active role in " the Golden Jubilee of China-Thailand Friendship " activities, including co-organizing the workshop on Science, Technology and Innovation between China and Thailand, and let the evergreen tree of China-Thailand friendship continue to flourish and bear even more fruitful results in the next 50 years.
