CAS-TWAS Centre of Excellence for Emerging Infectious Disease (CEEID) Hosted 2 Sub-Forums of the 2024 World Life Science Conference
The 2024 World Life Sciences Conference, hosted by the China Union of Life Science Societies which consists of 23 non-profit and non-governmental academic societies and is sponsored by the China Association for Science and Technology, was successfully held from October 19 to 21 in Boao, Hainan, with the theme "One World, Shared Health."
The conference established 42 sub-forums and 2 special forums on various cutting-edge areas, including biodiversity conservation, precision medicine, synthetic biology, brain science, and the application of artificial intelligence in life sciences. The conference attracted more than 300 experts, scholars, and industry leaders from 25 countries to discuss key challenges and breakthroughs in the field of life sciences.
As a partner of the China Union of Life Science Societies, CEEID hosted two sub-forums: "Session 23: AI and Frontier Life Science " and "Session 24: Pandemic Preparedness and Countermeasures", and invited 12 domestic and international experts to give the keynote speech, including two TWAS fellows, which attracted numerous experts and scholars to participate in academic discussions.
